A Manager of Our Student Program

This position is responsible for overseeing the day-to-day functions of the student program which supports all the elements of the Center’s work from data science, to impact investing to storytelling. This position will lead efforts to recruit, interview, and place students with a diverse array of skill sets and experience into the respective program teams. In addition to overseeing the current program, the role will be responsible for preparing and implementing a strategy to expand the program both in terms of the number of student participants and scope of the program.
Roles & Responsibilities
Support and collaborate with the David Eccles School of Business on student experience initiatives
Lead and oversee the implementation of a strategic plan in coordination with Sorenson Impact leadership team.
Manage internal projects as they relate to the advancement of the student program and student success
Development of external partnerships to further the student program including the development of recruiting partnerships with other Universities and job placement opportunities.
Work with the David Eccles School of Business and the University of Utah to fundraise for student program initiatives and scholarship program
Oversee the day-to-day operations of the student program for every track, each semester. This includes recruiting, candidate interviewing, and hosting bi-weekly all-student meetings.
Collaborate with the Sorenson Impact Center to place students in project teams and with staff mentors.
Prepare the student program for expansion.

Bachelor’s degree in a related area or equivalency (2 years related work experience may be substituted for 1 year of education).
Four to six years of progressively more responsible management experience. Background knowledge of hiring department’s area of specialization in order to analyze, plan and draw conclusions for recommendations to superiors. Demonstrated leadership skills in planning and directing employees and processes in order to effectively monitor and develop subordinates and to ensure the smooth operation of department. Master’s degree in a related area may be preferred.
