Senior Student Fellow
Data, Policy, and Performance Innovation
Austin is a Senior Student Fellow on the Policy Innovation team working primarily on the MAPS project, including managing the inaugural Student Coalition on Higher Education and researching the experiences of U.S. postsecondary students from historically marginalized backgrounds. In addition, he studies higher education as a master's student at the Harvard Graduate School of Education.
Prior to his experience at Sorenson, Austin worked in a number of student affairs offices and roles at the University of Utah’s David Eccles School of Business, where he primarily focused on student programming and equity & inclusion initiatives. In the future, Austin hopes to continue working on some of our society’s most significant and pressing social problems, with a particular focus on dismantling intersecting systems of oppression that underlie issues like education injustice, climate change, and mental health inequity.
