Dan Barrell

Senior Student Fellow

Dan is a Student Fellow on the Impact Investing team working on due diligence for deals being submitted to the Investment Committee. Dan is a Certified Public Accountant and holds a bachelor’s degree in Accounting from the University of Oregon Lundquist College of Business / Robert D. Clark Honors College. While at the University of Oregon he authored the thesis, "Accounting for Socially Responsible Corporations". Prior to joining Sorenson, Dan worked at KPMG in the audit, tax and advisory practices where he served private equity and publicly traded clients in the financial services, energy, real estate, consumer products, manufacturing, forestry, and healthcare sectors. Dan worked in a corporate finance role at a publicly-traded biotech company in the Bay Area with a focus on international finance, technical accounting, and SEC reporting. Dan also worked as an internal consulting manager for a global technology company and as an internal audit manager for a large financial services company. In his free time, Dan enjoys backcountry skiing, international travel, mountain biking, and backpacking. Dan is a graduate student in the Masters of Science in Finance and the Masters in Business Administration programs at the University of Utah.
