Senior Associate of Data, Policy, and Performance Innovation
Austin currently serves as Senior Associate of Data, Policy, and Performance Innovation, where he works primarily on the MAPS Project to chart the future of higher education with students at the core and equity as a driving value. He manages the Student Coalition on Higher Education, coordinates convenings, does research and writing, and more. In addition, he works on a portfolio of education-focused Pay for Success projects aimed at increasing the reach of solutions to myriad issues in the education ecosystem. In his work, he strives to catalyze progressive social change and works to dismantle oppressive systems, hoping to contribute to the making of a more just global community.
Prior to joining the Sorenson team, he worked in a number of student affairs offices and roles at the University of Utah’s David Eccles School of Business, where he primarily focused on student programming, leadership development, and equity & inclusion initiatives.
Austin graduated from the Harvard Graduate School of Education with an M.Ed. in Higher Education, during which he took a trilateral focus on social justice, data, and policy. He also holds a BS in Organizational Behavior from the University of Utah.
